Lazio ‘to seek’ loan for Benfica forward Franjo Ivanovic | OneFootball

According to The Laziali, Lazio have stepped up their interest in Benfica forward Franjo Ivanovic and are exploring an initial loan this summer.

The Biancocelesti managed only 41 goals in 38 Serie A matches last season, underlining the need for added firepower up front.

Ivanovic is open to leaving this summer but wants assurances over playing time, and it remains to be seen if Benfica will accept a temporary deal.

Lazio have considered alternative options, including Roberto Piccoli, Andrea Pinamonti and John Kennedy, yet none of those avenues has advanced.

The Croatian forward shone at Union Saint-Gilloise with 47 appearances, 21 goals and seven assists, then earned a €23 million switch to Benfica in summer 2025.

Last season under Jose Mourinho he featured 42 times across competitions, scoring eight and supplying three, and he has nine Croatia caps with two goals.
