Lazio are eyeing a deal to bring Croatian midfielder Marcelo Brozović back to Serie A following the expiration of his contract with Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr.

The experienced midfielder spent eight years at Inter between 2015 and 2023, making over 300 appearances for the Nerazzurri, and according to Calciomercato.it, he is open to a return to Italian football.

Gattuso asks for reinforcements at Lazio

Furthermore, the reports claim that Lazio head coach Gennaro Gattuso has specifically asked the upper management for a midfielder of similar qualities to Brozovic and the club are therefore considering a move.

After a slow start to the summer transfer window, Lazio accelerated their business in the closing stages of the market, securing deals for the likes of Albert Guðmundsson, Andrea Pinamonti, and Josip Šutalo.

The capital club are also expected to finalize the arrival of Portuguese defender Diogo Leite on a free transfer to replace Alessio Romagnoli, who left to join Al-Sadd.
