Palmeiras beat LDU 1-0 at Nubank Parque in the first leg of their Conmebol Libertadores quarter-final. According to Globo.com, LDU then rested almost their entire side at the weekend, with coach Gustavo Álvarez making 10 changes and only centre-back Allala retained.

The headline change was Deyverson coming into the XI, and he scored a penalty in a 1-1 draw with Deportivo Cuenca in the Ecuadorian league on Saturday.

Leonel Quiñónez returned to the starting line-up after a muscle injury. He has a chance of starting against Palmeiras.

Against Palmeiras, LDU started: Valle, Weigandt, Adé, Allala, Segovia, Yerlin Quiñónez, Pretell, Lucas Rodríguez, Cornejo, Corozo, Estrada. At the weekend they named: Domínguez, Zambrano, Allala, Mina, Leonel Quiñónez, Carabalí, Juan Rodríguez, González, Velasco, Alvarado, Deyverson.

Abel Ferreira’s side need only a draw in Quito on Wednesday at 19:00 Brasília time, at Rodrigo Paz Delgado. The city sits 2,850 metres above sea level. An LDU win by a single goal would take the tie to penalties.
