Stéphane Le Mignan will meet Metz president Bernard Serin on Monday as pressure intensifies following a grim week and after leaving La Meinau empty-handed.

According to L'Équipe, Serin stayed close to the squad in recent days and demanded an immediate correction after the 0-4 Coupe de France collapse to Montpellier. Metz left Strasbourg with no point, short of the presidential demand.

Metz began brightly but conceded in the 12th minute and trailed 1-2 at the break. They managed only two shots on target and 13 touches in the box, exposing technical shortcomings at this level.

Le Mignan said the intentions were right, his side reacted after the opener and their plan unsettled the hosts. Serin visited the dressing room after the match and the coach said the players are behind FC Metz. He added confidence is not the issue and, still without Habib Diallo and Cheikh Sabaly, they are working with their strengths.

At halfway Metz have 12 points, their worst top-flight tally since 2017-2018. Jessy Deminguet said the coach is questioned when results turn, the squad are sticking to his message and were told not to let go. Serin could be tempted to part with his coach, out of contract on 30 June, with talks due in the coming hours.
