GOAL
San Deigo gets one back on Pachuca but it's merely consolation in the dying minutes.
And it's Denis Bouango who skies his second attempt! Mazatlán will collect the extra point!
Both goalkeepers dispatch their penalties and we'll restart from the top! Pure drama in this opening night of Leagues Cup action.
We head into round nine of the penalties and neither keeper can seem to come up with a clutch save!

Pachuca are absolutely flying in San Diego! Three goals to the good now.
LAFC and Mazatlán are level at the end of 90 minutes so we head to our third penalty shootout of the night!

Pachuca snatch the lead with nearly the last kick of the half! A peach of a finish from Alexéi Domínguez sees the Mexican side double their lead heading into the break.

HUGE CHANCE FOR PACHUCA
Former MLS man Jhonder Cádiz looked sure to put the Liga MX side on top, but his shot from left side of the box flashed narrowly wide of the post to spare San Diego blushes.
LAFC remain on top of Mazatlán but they just can't seem to find their second goal on the night.

Pachuca have the lead in San Diego thanks to a frankly bizarre goal.
Víctor Guzmán's initial shot came off the onrushing keeper, but the deflection ricocheted off of Guzmán's face and into the back of the net. The Mexican has his goal, but he took with him a bloody nose!

Mazatlán respond immediately! A rip-roaring counter sees the visitors pull level just minutes after LAFC opened the scoring.
And we're off and rolling San Diego!

LAFC have been knocking on the door for the last 10 minutes, and now they have their reward. With the goalkeeper inexplicably off his line, David Martínez took advantage and lobbed home the opener. 1-0 to the hosts.
HUGE SAVE
LAFC looked nailed on to find the opener against Mazatlán, but Ricardo Rodríguez pulled off a simply stunning save on Jeremy Ebobisse from only a few yards out!

Another preventable goal sees Houston trail by two to Tigres. Ángel Correa has bagged his second of the night as his Tigres career fully gets underway.

A bad giveaway at the back allowed Diego Lainez to fire home from distance and reclaim the lead for Tigres!
