Leeds United’s survival push received another major lift, with bookmakers overhauling relegation odds and their predicted final table, according to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk.
On Friday Leeds beat Burnley 3-1, moving nine points clear of third-bottom Tottenham, seven ahead of fourth-bottom West Ham and four in front of fifth-bottom Nottingham Forest.
Leeds played first. West Ham then kicked off at Brentford on Saturday, three pm, where the hosts won 3-0 to move into sixth and leave the Irons in danger of falling into the relegation places.
The Whites remain seven clear of West Ham, with both now having three matches left, and the Irons host title-chasing Arsenal next.
West Ham stay two points ahead of Tottenham, but Spurs can climb out of the drop zone and above them with victory in their game in hand at Aston Villa on Sunday night. Forest visit Chelsea on Bank Holiday Monday.
That defeat further buoyed Leeds, Spurs and Forest and has prompted major updates to relegation markets and the projected table, including a significant call on Leeds, alongside a notable shift in the title betting.
