Leeds United will visit Stamford Bridge in the Carabao Cup third round on Wednesday, the ninth of September, with an eight pm kick-off live on Sky Sports, yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk reports.

Chelsea then beat the Hatters 2-0 at Stamford Bridge to confirm the tie, with third-round fixtures split across two midweek slots.

The round falls in the weeks beginning Monday, the seventh of September and Monday, the 14th. Leeds were always likely to land in the first window given a home game against Newcastle United on Monday, the 14th.

Daniel Farke’s side face another long trip before London, away to Brighton on Saturday, the fifth of September at three pm, then have four days’ recovery after Stamford Bridge before hosting Newcastle on the Monday night.
