Leeds City Council has set out a dedicated traffic and travel plan as Leeds United’s first home match of the 2026/27 season falls on the final day of Leeds Festival over the August Bank Holiday.

In a statement, the council, with West Yorkshire Police, said long-established arrangements with Leeds United and Festival Republic are in place to minimise disruption, and that policing plans are set for a busy Bank Holiday weekend that also includes the Leeds West Indian Carnival.

Leeds host Brentford at Elland Road on Sunday, 30 August. The fixture was moved from Saturday, 29 August after being selected for live television coverage. It is one of three Premier League matches on Sky Sports at the same time, alongside Chelsea v Brighton and Sunderland v Fulham.

Sunday is the third and final day at Bramham Park, where this year’s festival features headliners Charli XCX, Dave and Fontaines D.C.

Plans include liaison with Festival Republic, Leeds United and other stakeholders, including the police, to ensure arrangements dovetail on 30 August. Attendees are encouraged to use public transport and plan journeys in advance.

Any changes to current arrangements will be communicated to the public in due course.
