Leeds United have suffered an injury setback with summer signing Harry Wilson, the winger has a quad problem and faces a spell on the sidelines, potentially for a few weeks.

According to Leeds Live, Wilson reported pain after a substitute outing in the 4-1 win at Newcastle United on Monday evening, and scans have confirmed the issue. He will miss Sunday’s Premier League home game against Crystal Palace.

There is some positive news for Leeds, with Ilia Gruev fit again and in contention this weekend after a meniscus knee injury that sidelined him from April through the final weeks of last season.

Daniel Farke said the midfielder benefited from an under-21 run-out, playing nearly 90 minutes, which boosted his confidence, and he is available.

Farke added that Wilson will probably also miss Wales’ upcoming Nations League fixtures. Joe Rodon remains out, while the rest of the squad are available to play.
