Leeds United are expected to confirm Harry Wilson as their first summer signing, while work continues to add further quality to Daniel Farke’s squad.

The Athletic reports Everton have placed former Leeds loanee Djed Spence on a right-back shortlist after Seamus Coleman’s exit and amid interest in Nathan Patterson. Sky Sports says Ipswich are close to a €31m (£26.6m) deal for Toulouse striker Emersonn with a medical planned, while BBC Sport adds Callum Wilson is in advanced talks over a 12-month move to Brentford.

Leeds agreed Wilson’s free transfer over a week ago and any delay is not believed to signal problems. They have also held talks with free agent Julian Brandt and seen bids of more than £20m for Southampton midfielder Shea Charles rejected.

Spence’s Leeds loan from Tottenham in 2023 was cut short in January after seven outings. He has since revived his form in North London and featured in England’s 3-2 World Cup last-16 win over Mexico at the Azteca. Arsenal’s Ben White is also liked on Merseyside.

Emersonn, 21, is set for tests before completing the move, with Hull also keen but missing out. The Brazilian recorded six goals and two assists in 27 Ligue 1 matches last season alongside Charlie Cresswell at Toulouse.

Wilson left relegated West Ham this summer after his contract expired, having scored 7 in 32 Premier League games. He looks set to compete with Igor Thiago if the Brentford switch is finalised.
