Daniel Farke delivered a positive fitness bulletin before Saturday’s Elland Road clash with Brentford, including a brighter update on Noah Okafor, while Gabriel Gudmundsson is ruled out. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, a home win would move Leeds six points clear of relegation for the night.

Okafor has been sidelined since mid-February. He returned to training last week then suffered a minor setback that kept him out against Crystal Palace, but Farke’s pre-Brentford briefing was more upbeat.

Brentford suffered a fresh potential blow during Monday’s draw with Wolves. Even before that, they have several players out.

Fabio Carvalho and Antoni Milambo are out for the season after anterior cruciate ligament surgery in November. Josh Dasilva is returning from ACL surgery and two further operations late last season, back in some first-team work this month and being managed carefully.

Full-backs Rico Henry and Aaron Hickey have hamstring injuries, Henry is set to miss numerous weeks and Hickey is expected to return after the international break. Midfielder Vitaly Janelt is also out until after the break with a metatarsal problem sustained against Brighton last month.
