Leeds United and Daniel Farke have received a fitness boost, with Anton Stach set to return from Germany duty largely untested.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the midfielder watched Monday's meeting with Ghana from the bench in Stuttgart after earning a first Germany call-up in four years this month.

Competition in central midfield was fierce, so his outing against Switzerland amounted to a 10-minute cameo with the game at 3-3. Germany won 4-3, with club-level teammate Noah Okafor an unused substitute for the opponent.

He again stayed on the bench against Ghana, as the £17 million summer signing took a full watching brief in a 2-1 victory sealed by Kai Havertz and Deniz Undav. Friendly rules allowed Julian Nagelsmann to make eight substitutions, but Stach was not used.

Stach has been virtually ever-present for Farke, missing only a handful of Premier League games through injury. Before the break he completed 90 minutes in four demanding fixtures against Manchester City, Sunderland, Crystal Palace and Brentford.

He will return to West Yorkshire with just 10 minutes in his legs. Leeds visit West Ham in an FA Cup quarter-final on Sunday, then have a full week before facing Manchester United on Monday, April 13.

It remains to be seen how strong a side Farke selects at the London Stadium, with survival the priority and injuries a risk. Dominic Calvert-Lewin has also not featured this week after being sent back by England following a substitute outing against Uruguay.
