Leeds United have appointed Greek businessman Andreas Dracopoulos to their Board of Directors.
The club said in a statement that he has joined following a personal investment and will help in the mission to be an established side in the Premier League. He and chairman Paraag Marathe have been acquainted for years, and Dracopoulos had spoken about investing for some time.
Dracopoulos co-chairs the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, a private philanthropic organisation operating internationally and funding projects with broad, lasting social impact.
Through SNF, over 3,100 global nonprofits have benefited, and he has long supported work in education, arts and culture, and medicine.
Born and raised in Athens, he is a long-time Leeds supporter, taking out his first official club membership 50 years ago.
He joins chairman Paraag Marathe, vice-chairman Andrew Schwartzberg, and board members Peter Lowy, Eugene Schneur and Robbie Evans, completing the current board.
