Leeds United appoint performance analyst Matthew Jenkins from Cardiff City

Leeds United have added Matthew Jenkins to their backroom team as first-team performance analyst ahead of the 2026/27 Premier League season.

Jenkins arrives from Cardiff City, where he spent eight years progressing from under-23 performance analyst in 2018 to head first-team performance analyst last season. Wales Online first reported his switch to Elland Road.

Last season he worked closely with head coach Brian Barry-Murphy as the Bluebirds finished second in League One, behind Michael Skubala’s Lincoln City, earning promotion to the Championship.

Barry-Murphy publicly praised Jenkins last summer, calling him exceptional and saying the analyst’s work had blown him away.

Jenkins’ LinkedIn profile now lists him as first-team performance analyst at Leeds.
