Joe Rodon, Leeds United’s No six, has unexpectedly become the most viewed player in Buenos Aires, FBREF reports. The revelation left many Leeds fans bemused.
The Wales international emerged at Swansea, his hometown club, before an £11m move to Tottenham in October 2020. He joined Leeds for £10m in July 2024 and now has 225 senior appearances and 58 Wales caps.
On X, the club teased Lionel Messi, Julian Alvarez or Rodrigo De Paul, once a transfer target, as possible answers before revealing Rodon.
Replies swung from disbelief to pride. One supporter questioned whether it could be true, another joked that Leeds are massive, and a third praised the football knowledge in Buenos Aires. Rodon, whom Daniel Farke adores, was even dubbed a Rolls Royce.
Others posted images of Marcelo Bielsa, suggesting he was behind the trend, even though he never coached Rodon. Bielsa is due back in England in March.
It may not change much, yet supporters enjoyed the absurdity of a 28-year-old defender outdrawing Messi in Buenos Aires.
