Bookmakers' early Premier League forecast has emerged after Leeds United's first pre-season run-out, offering an initial clue to where the Whites might finish in their second season back.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the latest prices make Arsenal 7-4 favourites, with Manchester City 3-1 second favourites and in places as short as 9-4, Liverpool 7-1, Manchester United 15-2, Chelsea 9-1 and Tottenham Hotspur 28-1, some firms as short as 18s.

Nine weeks after the final game of the 2025-26 season at West Ham, Daniel Farke fielded a mix of experience and youth against Wrexham at the Raymond James Stadium in New Jersey.

Leeds fell behind after 31 seconds and then missed a penalty, but goals from Joel Piroe, who had taken the spot kick, and Sean Longstaff made it 2-2 at the break.

Harry Wilson, a summer signing, entered at half-time and made an immediate impression as chances followed, yet Wrexham's Sam Smith hit an 88th-minute winner to seal a 3-2 defeat for Farke's side.

Friendlies count for little once the real stuff begins, but this was a first glimpse of a new-look Leeds and the betting picture frames the early debate alongside Sunderland, Crystal Palace, Everton and the newly promoted trio Coventry City, Ipswich Town and Hull City.
