Leeds United hire Matthew Jenkins as first-team analyst after Cardiff promotion

Leeds United have added Matthew Jenkins to their first-team analysis staff ahead of the 2026/27 Premier League season.

Wales Online first reported his move to Elland Road, and his LinkedIn lists him as first-team performance analyst.

Jenkins spent eight years with Cardiff City, starting as an under-23 performance analyst in 2018 and rising to head first-team performance analyst last season.

He worked closely with head coach Brian Barry-Murphy as the Bluebirds finished second in League One, behind Michael Skubala’s Lincoln City, to win promotion to the Championship.

Barry-Murphy praised Jenkins last summer, describing his work as top quality, calling him exceptional and saying working alongside him had blown him away.
