Leeds United are hoping to sign Eintracht Frankfurt’s France under-21 winger Jean-Matteo Bahoya in a late deadline-day push before Tuesday night’s 11pm cut-off.

yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk understands that the move is not straightforward, with obstacles still to clear, but Leeds are trying to get it done before the window closes.

The Whites have been seeking another attacker and made an approach for Chelsea’s Ukraine international Mykhailo Mudryk, who is heading to Tottenham. Bahoya, capped five times at under-21 level, had looked set for Hull City at the weekend before that deal collapsed.

Securing an attacker could pave the way for Willy Gnonto to join Fiorentina. Leeds permitted the winger to fly to Italy on Monday, while maintaining he would only leave if a replacement arrives.

Bahoya, 21, has made 78 appearances for Frankfurt since arriving from Angers in January 2024, contributing seven goals and eight assists.

Meanwhile, Leeds are expected to unveil versatile French left back Melvin Bard as their sixth summer addition on a season-long loan from Nice with an option to buy. The club will pay a €1m loan fee, with a €5m purchase clause available next summer. Bard, 25, has played 193 times for Nice, scoring seven and assisting six, and offers cover for Gabriel Gudmundsson at left back as well as options centrally or out wide.
