Leeds United were without eight first-team players for their opening pre-season friendly against Wrexham, with four absences attributed to injuries.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Dominic Calvert-Lewin sustained a minor pre-season setback that halted his individual programme, and he is now training alone on camp while building towards rejoining full training.

Jaka Bijol missed out after a knee knock, while Sebastiaan Bornauw had a minor issue and was not risked.

Ilia Gruev’s 2025-26 campaign ended early with a meniscus knee injury. He was included in the USA tour group and was expected to be back for pre-season, but his return could take time.

Noah Okafor was handed an extended break after reaching the World Cup quarter-final with Switzerland, so he was not named in the travelling squad.

Brenden Aaronson, another World Cup participant, was listed in the squad but has not yet linked up with the group and is expected to feature later in the tour.
