Max Wober has finally made his Bundesliga debut for Werder Bremen, with four games left in the campaign for the Leeds United loanee. It comes as other Leeds loanees face contrasting fortunes.
The Austrian had not played a minute of 2025/26 league action after two injuries. A hamstring problem ruled him out of 14 straight fixtures, he returned to the bench once, then a new issue sidelined him for another 14.
On Sunday he came on for a 25-minute cameo at Stuttgart, and said in a post he had waited a long time for the moment. Bremen are 12th in the 18-team Bundesliga, with Freiburg, Bayern Munich and St Pauli to come.
Wober joined Leeds in January 2023 on a four-and-a-half-year deal to summer 2027. He used a loan clause following 2023 relegation to spend a season at Borussia Mönchengladbach. Back at Leeds last season, two knee operations limited him to eight league outings, two starts, and he has 28 appearances in total, so a summer exit feels inevitable.
Elsewhere on loan, Mateo Joseph’s campaign at Mallorca is over after an ACL injury. Before that he started 19 league matches and made 10 substitute appearances, scoring twice and supplying four assists. Mallorca are one point and one place above the drop with five games remaining.
Largie Ramazani has timed his breakthrough at Valencia late, but decisively. He did not start before mid February, then began 10 in a row, scoring five, four of them in wins, to keep them five points clear of the relegation zone.
