Leeds United were without eight first-team players for their opening pre-season friendly against Wrexham, with four absences injury-related.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Dominic Calvert-Lewin suffered a minor pre-season setback that halted his individual programme and is currently training alone on camp while building towards team work.

Ilia Gruev ended last season early with a meniscus knee injury. He was expected to be back for pre-season and is in the USA tour group, though his return to action could take time.

Noah Okafor was granted an extended break after reaching the World Cup quarter-final with Switzerland, so he was not included in the travelling squad.
