Leeds United came from behind to draw 1-1 at Tottenham Hotspur, a day after their own safety was confirmed. According to Leeds Live, Jaka Bijol and Ethan Ampadu were standout performers in a resilient display.

Spurs carried the first-half threat, with vital blocks and Pascal Struijk clearing off the line. Antonin Kinsky denied Joe Rodon with a fine low stop on 22 minutes, and Daniel James struggled at right wing-back against Mathys Tel.

Tel broke through on 51 minutes, curling in after Bijol’s headed clearance from a corner. He later conceded a penalty after contact with Ampadu while attempting an overhead clearance, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin converted on 74 for his 14th of the season.

Spurs pressed late on but Sean Longstaff forced Kinsky to tip onto the bar, and a late appeal against Lukas Nmecha was waved away. Leeds held firm.

Ratings saw Karl Darlow steady under crosses but penalised for the eight-second rule, six. High marks went to Bijol and Ampadu, both nine, with James Justin, Rodon and Nmecha on eight. Struijk seven, Ao Tanaka, Anton Stach and Brenden Aaronson six, James five.

Subs included Sebastiaan Bornauw seven, Wilfried Gnonto seven and Longstaff six, with Nmecha eight. Daniel Farke received seven, injuries to Jayden Bogle and Gabriel Gudmundsson meant James at right wing-back did not come off, though the 63-minute changes added impetus. Leeds are unbeaten in seven away games.
