Daniel Farke hailed Leeds United's Premier League survival and a hard-earned 1-1 draw at Tottenham, saying his side would never stop fighting for points.
Leeds went into the match relaxed after West Ham's defeat to Arsenal left the Hammers in 18th, seven points adrift with two games left. According to Leeds Live, the result made it seven unbeaten away and came amid a vibrant Spurs crowd after back-to-back wins.
Farke expected Spurs to be sharp and said Leeds were without many key players, yet deserved their equaliser. He felt a point suited Leeds better in the circumstances and they were greedy enough to almost win late, but the goalkeeper saved.
He noted lengthy added time, questioning why it reached double figures, and said selection was driven by limited options, with one player rewarded after a strong week in training. He added two players tweaked hamstrings during activation.
As a newly promoted side, Farke highlighted the need for a spot-on game plan, outstanding fitness, tactical flexibility and a resilient, values-led culture. He said spending was kept in check to protect the club's future.
On Ethan Ampadu's contract, he preferred to focus on the game, saying the main target was achieved yesterday. He reiterated how much he values the player, suggested readers could read between the lines, and said he would speak another time.
Farke said nothing would detract from the scale of the achievement, pointing to unbeaten results against Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United. Leeds will now aim to finish as high as possible to secure more club and personal funds, with Brighton at home next Sunday for the final home game.
