Leeds United have been voted Britain’s loudest away support in a national fan survey.

According to Leeds Live, the ranking came from Midnite’s Built Different Index poll of 6,000 supporters, which asked who had the loudest away fans at their ground. Leeds were selected by 9.6%.

Millwall placed second on 8.5%, with Newcastle United on 6.6% and Manchester United on 5.9%. Liverpool completed the top five on 5.6%.

Among Premier League club respondents only, Newcastle topped the list with 12.2%. In Championship-only responses, Millwall led with 14.2%.

The study also noted a tendency for fans to pick their rivals as the loudest visitors, for example Liverpool and Everton supporters selecting each other.

The research formed part of Midnite’s Built Different Index initiative, which sought to explore long-debated supporter questions across the 92 clubs.
