Leeds United dug in at Anfield to earn a 0-0 draw with Liverpool, extending their Premier League unbeaten run to six games.
According to Leedsunited.news, Daniel Farke made four changes, leaving Dominic Calvert-Lewin on the bench, with Sebastiaan Bornauw added to defence and Ilia Gruev into midfield. Farke set up his side to contain the champions.
Lucas Perri spilled an early shot but a defender bailed him out, then Jaka Bijol headed tamely from a corner for Leeds’ first opening. James Justin twice thwarted Florian Wirtz in threatening positions as the hosts dictated possession. Gruev’s off-ball work helped keep Liverpool at arm’s length.
Perri later almost paid for a mix-up with Bijol, and Bornauw went off late with an injury concern after an accomplished display. The Belgian had earlier been close to an assist before Calvert-Lewin strayed offside. Gabriel Gudmundsson impressed defensively against Jeremie Frimpong and offered bursts forward.
Pascal Struijk had a couple of shaky moments but was dominant in the air, while Bijol defended assertively after an important early tackle on Wirtz. Anton Stach drove midfield and delivered well from set pieces, though he overhit a breakaway pass to Brenden Aaronson. Aaronson worked tirelessly without end product and Lukas Nmecha toiled against Ibrahima Konate and Virgil Van Dijk.
Ethan Ampadu’s long throw almost found Nmecha and he shot wastefully after an Alisson clearance, but his booking means he will miss the Manchester United match.
