The Athletic ranks Leeds United’s seven summer recruits within a 154-strong Premier League list, with Harry Wilson highest for the club and a placement for James Trafford that feels harsh.

Deadline day brought Melvin Bard on a loan-to-buy from Nice for £5m and Jean-Matteo Bahoya on loan with a £26m obligation from Frankfurt. The pair could cost £31m.

Michael Zetterer is 128th, a £4.3m Frankfurt signing to back up Trafford. Nico Elvedi sits 101st at £8.5m, with 73 Switzerland caps. Daniel Farke knows him from Gladbach, and he may prove the best value.

Bard is 74th. The 25-year-old has 212 senior games for Lyon and Nice and offers left-back cover plus depth on the left of the back three.

Bahoya is 67th. He delivered seven Bundesliga goal contributions in 27 games last season, largely off the bench. End product needs work but he is an exciting addition.

Trafford at 54th feels severe. Despite the British record £45m fee for a goalkeeper, his early Leeds performances suggest a high-calibre signing who finally brings reliability in goal.

Tarik Muharemovic is 32nd after a £34m move that initially raised eyebrows. His pre-season and early competitive displays have quickly quietened doubts.

Wilson at 27th looks Leeds’ standout deal. Signed on a free after 17 Premier League goals and assists for Fulham last term, that value-for-money placing feels mean. He will prove his worth.
