A well-known Leeds United supporter, Michael 'Little Mick' Hewitt, has been reported missing while travelling to the World Cup, prompting an urgent family appeal.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, he left Leeds on Saturday 20 June bound for Boston via Barcelona to watch England’s second group game earlier this month.

His family last heard from him in the early hours of Sunday 21 June after he landed in Spain. Since then his phone has been off and there have been no social media updates.

Hewitt, widely known as Little Mick among Whites followers, has followed Leeds home and away for decades. His relatives are very worried for his safety.

A missing person case has been raised with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, reference 02470905, and Interpol have been alerted to establish whether he travelled on to the USA or remained in Barcelona.

The UK police reference is 20260628/1183. West Yorkshire Police received the report at 3.09pm on Sunday 28 June.
