Leeds United midfielder Sam Chambers has joined Northampton Town on a season-long loan completed on deadline day.

Leeds United said in a statement that the highly rated 19-year-old is a versatile option across midfield and the front line and is seeking regular senior minutes. The club added they will monitor his progress and wished him well.

Chambers made his senior debut as a second-half substitute in a Championship win over Plymouth Argyle at Elland Road in November 2024.

He then started the FA Cup fourth round tie against Millwall at Elland Road in February, playing 70 minutes.

Capped by Scotland up to under-19s level, he has begun this season with two outings for the under-21s, scoring against National League side Boreham Wood and providing two assists in a Premier League 2 win over West Bromwich Albion Under-21s.
