Leeds United could bank around £2.64m from a sell-on clause if Charlie Cresswell completes a move from Toulouse to Rennes.
According to Footmercato, Rennes are close to agreeing a €25m (£21.4m) deal plus €3m (£2.6m) in add-ons for the 23-year-old, with a lucrative salary on offer.
The Breton side finished sixth in Ligue 1 last season, securing Europa League football that could hand the former Leeds defender continental minutes if the transfer is sealed.
Cresswell left Elland Road for Toulouse in July 2024 in a £3.8m move and signed a four-year contract after limited game-time under Daniel Farke.
He has since made 60 Ligue 1 appearances and scored six goals, attracting interest from the Premier League and Italy across two seasons.
Leeds inserted a 15 per cent sell-on on any future profit, so on a £21.4m initial fee Toulouse would profit by £17.6m and Elland Road could receive roughly £2.64m.
That would lift Leeds’ total take on Cresswell to about £6.45m, a timely boost, though the move still requires final agreement.
Leeds have included a similar clause in last month’s sale of Pascal Struijk to Brighton.
