Leeds return from the international break to face Arsenal at the Emirates on Saturday lunchtime, with as many as 10 players potentially missing out.
Leeds are unbeaten after five Premier League games, the first time since David O’Leary’s 2001-02 side went into November without defeat, but last season’s meeting ended 5-0 to Arsenal. According to Leedsunited.news, both squads have significant fitness concerns, and Arsenal were beaten by Brighton last time out.
Joe Rodon is expected to miss the trip after a muscle injury ruled him out of Wales duty, and it is believed he will be sidelined until late October or early November. James Justin, Nico Elvedi and Tarik Muharemovic have kept the back line steady, but his return remains important. Harry Wilson also skipped the break, yet he should be back on Saturday.
Jean-Matteo Bahoya sustained an ankle problem and came off early for France Under-21s against Estonia. With no diagnosis confirmed, he might not be risked against the Gunners.
Before the break, Mikel Arteta was already without William Saliba, Cristhian Mosquera and former Leeds star Ben White. Since then, Declan Rice did not join England’s camp, Ezri Konsa withdrew after playing 90 minutes against Croatia, and Kai Havertz plus Christos Tzolis suffered muscle issues while away.
As things stand, Saliba, Tzolis and Havertz will definitely miss Saturday. The status of Rice and Konsa is unknown, while White and Mosquera are expected to be fit. White has won seven of eight games against Leeds.
