A first Elland Road fixture under the lights of the 2026/27 Premier League season awaits on Monday evening, as Leeds United welcome Newcastle United to West Yorkshire.
The Whites will be keen to continue their impressive unbeaten start to the new top-flight campaign, which has seen them take five points from their opening three encounters.
Last time out, Jayden Bogle’s first-half strike had put Daniel Farke’s side on track for all three points on the road at Brighton & Hove Albion until a late header from the hosts ensured the spoils were shared on the south coast.
Attentions then turned to EFL Cup duties where United exited the competition at Chelsea during the week, despite goals from Tarik Muharemović, Brenden Aaronson and Dominic Calvert-Lewin in what was a hectic tie in the capital.
Newcastle visit West Yorkshire with a remarkably similar record to ourselves, having also collected five points from their first three matches under new boss Matthias Jaissle.
The Magpies' hierarchy turned to the German after longstanding coach Eddie Howe vacated the St. James’ Park hotseat in the summer, and he has had to oversee an overhaul to the squad with plenty of new arrivals replacing a number of the first team squad who moved away from the club.
The previous meeting in West Yorkshire between the two teams was also Leeds’ second home clash of last campaign’s Premier League campaign. Both defences dominated on the day and the math ended goalless.
The same could not be said for the return fixture on Tyneside, however, as a last-gasp Harvey Barnes winner saw the hosts come out on top of an enthralling seven-goal encounter, which had Aaronson and Calvert-Lewin both on target for the Whites.
Action from Elland Road gets underway at 8pm.
The view from inside the camp:
Speaking exclusively to Premier League Studios, Muharemović said: “A hard game, like always. We have to be ready, especially after a game on Wednesday. We are preparing already for the next steps. We want these three points. We want to finish the last two home games in the best mode before the international break.
“So, yeah, full focus on that. We play at home so we want to win. Before the kick-off, how the fans sing, you feel the emotions, the love for the club. I think that is also a thing that gives us players such motivation to give something back to the people who live for this club.”

Speaking in his press conference, the boss explained only Joe Rodon is expected to be out of the clash with the rest of his squad available for selection.
Proud to support the Together Against Suicide initiative:
Supporters attending home fixtures of Leeds United will have access to our new United in Support matchday hub which will be located outside the Centenary Pavilion as part of the Premier League’s Together Against Suicide initiative.
This new hub, that will be in place for every home match at Elland Road, forms part of the Premier League's Together Against Suicide initiative, which is bringing clubs, players and communities together between 4th and 14th September to raise awareness of suicide prevention and remind people that support is available. Stadium redevelopment updates:
Due to the redevelopment of the West Stand at Elland Road, there will be a significant change to the way West Stand ticket holders will access the stadium on matchdays throughout the 2026/27 season.
The main West Stand Gate on Elland Road (next to Howard’s) will now be the main access point for away fans only. This will also be the only access point for home supporters with tickets in areas C15, C16 & C17 when an away team fails to sell their full allocation and supporters with designated accessible tickets in the South Stand Lower area FA6. No other supporters will be able to access the West Stand via this route.
All general admission West Stand ticket holders (with the exception of the above) will enter through Entrances 4, 5, and 6. You can access these areas via Gate 4 from Lowfields Road (North East Corner), Gate 2 on Bobby Collins Way (behind the North Stand), or Gate 1 from Bobby Collins Way (North West Corner). The latest FPL advice from Fantasy Football Scout:
Defender James Justin (£4.5m) has made an excellent start to the season and has already shown the potential for returns at both ends of the pitch. Only Jayden Bogle (£4.5m) and Anton Stach (£6.0m) have registered more FPL points than the England international in the Leeds team so far this season. Justin’s 16 points have come from a clean sheet, two lots of Defensive Contribution points, two bonus points as well as six appearance points. For more hints and tips, click here.
