Leeds United spent more than £100m on 11 signings in 2025/26 and the recruitment largely worked, with Premier League safety sealed with three games to spare. According to Leeds Live, the intake earned two A+ and one F in the season’s grades.
Gabriel Gudmundsson received A+ after an outstanding maiden year. Dominic Calvert-Lewin also got A+, his 15 goals and hold-up play underpinning Leeds’ attacks. Without him, the side could have been dealing with relegation.
Jaka Bijol took A after a £15m move, settling after an October debut. Anton Stach also earned A, his set-pieces and ball-winning making him a mainstay. James Justin, an £8m arrival, became crucial in the back-three shape and displaced Jayden Bogle.
Lukas Nmecha received B, a free signing who scored seven with four decisive strikes. Sean Longstaff also took B, but he still struck against Bournemouth and Norwich City in the FA Cup. Noah Okafor’s B reflected a late burst of six in seven and an Old Trafford double, though injuries and stamina remain concerns.
Sebastiaan Bornauw was graded C, hindered by injuries and inconsistency, though unbeaten in league matches he started and key in a goalless draw at Liverpool. Lucas Perri got D, FA Cup heroics noted, yet errors, including Newcastle’s 4-3, showed he was no upgrade on Karl Darlow.
Facundo Buonanotte received F after only one start, a poor FA Cup outing at Birmingham City, plus just 36 Premier League minutes and 11 omissions from 21 matchdays.
