Álvaro Morata is moving closer to joining Leganés, with discussions advancing over a loan from Como. The club want a competitive squad as they target a return to Primera.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports that contact has taken place between the parties.
Soon after, Leganés sporting director Andrés Pardo fuelled the talk by addressing Morata directly, making clear the doors were open.
Fabrizio Romano has since indicated that negotiations between Leganés and Como are continuing to progress.
One of the key hurdles is the striker’s salary, though Leganés would be willing to make a significant financial effort and Como could cover part of his wages.
Morata would welcome a return to Madrid, so the positions appear to be converging. If completed, it would be a major coup for Leganés and among the standout deals of the Segunda market.
