Yvan Neyou has emerged as a vital figure in Leganes’ midfield, playing a crucial role in the team’s impressive performances this season.
He is an irreplaceable part of the squad for the Spanish underdogs, who have already defeated heavyweights Barcelona and Atletico Madrid in La Liga.
Now, they have their sights set on Real Madrid as they prepare for a thrilling Copa del Rey quarter-final clash.
In a recent interview, he shared insights about his career, views on Kylian Mbappe, whom he holds in high regard and of course, Real Madrid.

The midfielder expressed great admiration for Mbappe’s exceptional talent, attributing the Frenchman’s success to his speed, anticipation, and goal-scoring abilities.
Neyou believes that it was only a matter of time before Mbappe became a dominant force in Spanish football.
“I said in an interview a few months ago that when he started scoring goals he was going to be a machine and that is what is happening,” he began saying.
“He is a phenomenal player, he is very good, one of the best or the best. His speed, his reaction time, his anticipation, his ability to score a lot of goals… all those things make him different.”
He refrained from choosing between Mbappe and Vinicius, emphasising instead his love for watching high-quality football when both are on the pitch.
“I don’t know. I like to watch quality football. When both of them are on the pitch, it’s better for Real Madrid.”

When discussing Leganes’ achievements this season, Neyou acknowledged the significance of their victories over Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.
Looking ahead to their encounter with Real Madrid, he highlighted the importance of maintaining their winning momentum.
While lifting the Copa del Rey trophy would be a remarkable accomplishment, Neyou stressed that securing a win in the league at the Bernabwu might be even more valuable for the club’s future.
“Both options would be nice, but if I had to choose, I’d rather win in the league and get closer to salvation.
“I think that although the Copa del Rey is very important, salvation could allow the club to continue growing and try to win it in other years while in the First Division,” he added.
