FLW report from the King Power Stadium for this all-Midlands fixture

Leicester City piled on the misery for West Bromwich Albion and their under-fire head coach, Ryan Mason, with a dramatic 2-1 victory at the King Power Stadium courtesy of Abdul Fatawu's 94th-minute stunner.

It was Leicester who struck first when Jordan Ayew turned home his fourth of the season to cap off a neat passage of play for the Foxes after 18 minutes, before Albion equalised 16 minutes later through Karlan Grant's third of the campaign, with the forward curling his effort home from inside the 18-yard box.

Despite dominating the vast majority of the second period, the Baggies went on to record a 10th-straight loss away from The Hawthorns - the club's worst run in 99 years - as Fatawu slammed home Stephy Mavididi's hanging cross against the run of play in the dying seconds.

It was Leicester who worked the game's first chance inside two minutes, as Caleb Okoli rose highest to meet Jordan James' first corner, with the Italian's header cleared away by George Campbell.

The visitors then failed to take advantage of a defensive mishap as Jakub Stolarczyk eventually gathered before Aune Heggebo could look to score his eighth of the season.

The Foxes then took the lead on 18 minutes as Ayew rounded off a neat passing move with a simple finish from inside the 18-yard box after Griffiths failed to narrow the angle for James' square ball across the face of goal.

James then looked to continue his fine individual form with an audacious flick that landed just wide of Griffiths' right-hand post.

The hosts then got away with another concentration lapse as Mikey Johnston's powerful header under pressure was cleared off the line by Ricardo Pereira.

The visitors' pressure would eventually tell 11 minutes before the break as Grant raced onto an inch-perfect through ball from Alex Mowatt before drifting inside and firing a curling effort across Jakub Stolarczyk and into the bottom right-hand corner.

Mason's side almost completed a swift turnaround when Isaac Price's deflected effort was only just cleared to safety by Ben Nelson, whilst Campbell also turned the ball just wide after connecting with Mowatt's looping cross five minutes before the break.

Leicester looked to restore their advantage two minutes after the interval with a Nelson header that drifted wide, whilst he was left bemused that Stephen Martin waved away his appeals for a corner, before Isaac Price's first-time effort from Grant's fizzing cross moments later failed to trouble Stolarczyk.

The Foxes' defence then failed in their attempt to play Johnston offside, with the home support and players left mightily relieved when Price's cutback was smartly tipped onto the post by the Polish goalkeeper.

James, again, tried to pull off the spectacular 12 minutes into the half, although the Welsh playmaker's first-time effort on the turn was always rising.

Stolarczyk then pulled off another remarkable save on the hour-mark as Campbell burst into the box and played in Heggebo, who couldn't quite believe the shot-stopper's antics that saw his close-range strike impressively denied.

As they continued to turn the screw, the Leicester keeper was called upon twice more to deny Mowatt and Johnston, with the former's effort coming from a set-piece, whilst the latter searched for the bottom corner from close range midway through the half.

The Irishman then saw appeals for a penalty waved away by Martin with 16 minutes to go after falling under James' presence whilst attempting to turn home Grant's cross from the left.

Albion's pressure continued into the final 10 minutes as Johnston's hanging cross was met by substitute, Samuel Iling-Junior and cleared off the line, before Stolarczyk, again, came to the rescue for Leicester as Campbell powered a rebounding header back towards the goalmouth.

The Foxes' first chance for almost 25 minutes came eight minutes from time as Hamza Choudhury returned a James corner with interest, although his first-time strike lacked any kind of accuracy.

Despite facing an onslaught of pressure for the majority of the second half, it was Marti Cifuentes' side who stole all three points with 90 seconds to go as Fatawu fired in his fifth of the campaign with a stunning volley.

Marti Cifuentes reacts as Leicester City seal dramatic win over West Brom

Reflecting on his side's second late show of the campaign against Albion, Cifuentes said: "First of all, I'm happy. Obviously, a win is a win.

"I'm happy for the fans who came here on a cold night, and they got their reward by waiting until the last minute. Hopefully, they will go home happy with the feeling of a win.

"I think we started the game well. We had good control. We changed our shape in the build-up a little bit with our structure, and I think this helped us to establish ourselves higher up the pitch," the Spaniard explained.

"We score a great goal with great combinations in the final third. It was a great team effort. But, it's true that afterward, we started to drop slowly, and we finished the first half having less control than we would have liked to.

"In the second half, it was getting worse through the minutes, and we had a bad period from the 60th-75th/80th minute," the City boss added.

"We dropped deep. Obviously, we had some issues in the build-up, some emotions about the game, and it was difficult for us.

"But, I value the fact that the team were able to stick together. They showed some togetherness and personality to block shots and some good saves from Jakub.

"In the last 10 or 15 minutes, we started to regain a little bit of control. Then, it's a great goal from Abdul to close," said Cifuentes.

"We could have scored a third in the last counter of the game.

"Overall, it was an important win and a good reaction from our last game (loss to Watford)."

Ryan Mason reacts as West Brom suffer 10th-straight away loss

Reflecting on a bitter end to the game, Mason said: "Incredible.

"If you've not watched West Bromwich Albion this season, that 95 minutes pretty much sums up our season," he claimed.

"Created more chances than the opposition, more shots at goal, more penalty box entries, more 'pretty much everything'.

"But, for some reason, we've got an incredible ability to lose games that we really shouldn't," said the Albion boss.

"I'm frustrated, angry. So many emotions. Pride, as well. Pride, standing there to watch my team play like that with personality, quality, everything. There's pride as well, trust me, there's a lot of pride.

"But, to concede at the end from something that is a principle-based thing, and the lack of discipline in that moment, has cost us.

"The reality is we are where we are because of a lack of discipline in different moments, whether that's a penalty vs Hull, there are moments that have changed and dictated how the game and results have gone.

"But, that's where we are at the moment," he added.

"The reality is, in football, if you can't win the game, don't lose it. We've had a lot of games this season where (this has happened). We conceded three shots on target today and conceded two goals.

"That's been something that's continuously happened. I think, in our last five or six games, we've probably conceded 12 shots on target and conceded 10 goals.

"It's not a normal situation to be in for whatever reason. It's hard to put my finger on it because, as I say, that's not normal," Mason stated.

"We had eight shots on target, I think. Their keeper has pulled off some good saves and has helped them win the game of football.

"Really frustrating to come away with nothing. It wasn't as if I felt we were in any danger of losing at 1-1. But, it's the reality of where we are at the moment," he concluded.
