Leicester City player ratings as fives abound in Norwich defeat

Leicester City slipped to a fourth straight home defeat, their first such non top-flight run since April 1914, as Norwich inflicted another bleak afternoon at the King Power.

Pre-match protests against King Power’s ownership framed a subdued display that lacked the intensity of Gary Rowett’s first two matches. According to LeicesterMercury.co.uk, Rowett restored Abdul Fatawu for Stephy Mavididi, with Jamaal Lascelles and top scorer Jordan James back on the bench.

Leicester kept it level before the break and registered the first effort on target when Fatawu’s drive broke to Harry Winks, whose swerving strike forced Vladan Kovacevic to adjust late on 15 minutes. Norwich went close as Mathias Kvistgaarden hit the side-netting from Paris Maghoma’s corner, then Maghoma surged through midfield to draw a save from Jakub Stolarczyk.

Stolarczyk denied Maghoma and Ben Slimane early in the second half, but the deadlock went on 68 minutes when Sam Field fed Slimane near the D and the forward evaded Caleb Okoli to finish low into the keeper’s bottom right corner. Ten minutes later a quickly taken free kick on the right led to two crosses, the second finding Ahmed at the back post. Leicester toiled late on without a clear sight of goal.

Player ratings: Stolarczyk seven. Pereira, Okoli and Winks six. Nelson and Thomas six and a half. Skipp, Fatawu, Mukasa, De Cordova-Reid and Daka five. Mavididi five from the bench, with late outings for Lascelles, James and Ayew. Referee: Adam Herczeg.
