Leicester City have signed striker Admir Bristrić from NK Olimpija Ljubljana on a four-year deal, the eighth addition under Russell Martin and their first natural centre-forward of the summer after the exits of Patson Daka and Jordan Ayew.

The fee is undisclosed, though reports in his homeland suggest around €1.15m (£990k) plus add-ons worth €2m (£1.72m). Bristrić, 23, becomes the club’s latest attacking recruit.

He spent the 2025/26 campaign on loan with Slovenian top-flight side NK Bravo, scoring 13 goals and providing four assists. Leicester had searched for a striker all summer, with Bobby De Cordova-Reid leading the line in the season opener.

He follows Conor Chaplin, Wes Burns, Liam Cullen and Tommy Watson in joining the club. Bristrić will train at Seagrave this week and could make his debut against Notts County this weekend.

Last month, Martin set strengthening the frontline as a transfer priority. Since then Leicester have added four attacking players to deepen his options. With three weeks of the window remaining, attention is now expected to turn to centre-back after Ben Nelson’s serious knee injury left only three senior options, while Harry Souttar and Wout Faes also face uncertain futures.

Martin indicated Nelson’s setback probably means they will be more active for a defender than they would have been, and that they will have to wait to see who is still at the club. He said the next addition must fit the right profile rather than simply being left-footed, adding that a left-footer would be ideal but they can make do if not. He described Nelson’s loss as a huge blow and stressed they must be prepared to replace what he was set to bring.
