Kristiansen starts at left-back, with Bade Aluko on the right at the same venue where he was sent off earlier this season. Jakub Stolarczyk returns in goal behind the retained centre-back pairing of Nelson and Caleb Okoli, while Jamaal Lascelles is not in the squad.

In midfield there is one change as Louis Page replaces Harry Winks. Oliver Skipp and Divine Mukasa keep their places, with Mukasa eligible under this season’s rule changes despite playing for Man City in the last round.

Up front there are two switches, Jeremy Monga starts for Abdul Fatawu, who is not in the squad, and Jordan Ayew comes in for Patson Daka. Stephy Mavididi stays on the left. With no Fatawu or Lascelles available, centre-back Kevon Gray is on the bench and could make his debut if used.

City line-up 4-3-3: Stolarczyk, Aluko, Okoli, Nelson, Kristiansen, Skipp, Page, Mukasa, Monga, Ayew, Mavididi. Subs: Begovic, Ricardo, L Thomas, Gray, Winks, S Thomas, Marcal, Richards, Daka.
