Leicester City host Derby County in the Championship at the King Power Stadium on Monday, 29 December 2025, with just one point separating the sides as both look to climb the table.
Leicester City won the reverse fixture 3-1 at Derby County on 6 December and start this game 14th on 31 points, with the visitors 11th on 32.
The Foxes have lost their last two league matches, a 4-1 defeat at Queens Park Rangers followed by a home loss to Watford, though that run came after wins over Ipswich and at Derby. The Rams are unbeaten in three since that 3-1 loss, drawing with Millwall and Portsmouth and winning 3-0 at Sheffield Wednesday.
The Rams are without top scorer Carlton Morris, who has 10 league goals, while Joe Ward is suspended. Foxes defenders Jannik Vestergaard and Victor Kristiansen and midfielder Boubakary Soumaré are sidelined.
The Foxes average 53% possession with 83.65% passing accuracy and could look to feed creator Abdul Fatawu, who has six league assists. Derby, who have collected 18 points away from home, have scored 10 headed goals and won 539 aerial duels, so deliveries into the box may be a route to test the Foxes' defence.
The Foxes begin on 31 points and a win would move them closer to the top half and the play-off picture. Derby, on 32 points, could consolidate their top half position and keep pace with the teams above if they take all three points.
