Leicester City's Wout Faes wants his AS Monaco loan to become a permanent move after a strong start since January. Speaking at a press conference, as reported by Get French Football News, he set out his wish to stay.

The Belgium international, 27, joined the Principality club on loan with a buy option at the start of January.

He has featured in five Ligue 1 matches and started both UEFA Champions League games against Paris Saint-Germain.

Faes said he likes the league and Monaco's stature, and that staying would be great if it can be arranged. He added he is starting, making an impact, and enjoying his football.

Belgium manager Rudi Garcia attended Monaco's recent match against PSG, and Faes is aiming for a national-team recall. He thinks he is back in the picture, noting that the staff are following him, while the final choice is Garcia's.
