Today's Leicester transfer news which involves Patson Daka proves that Ruud van Nistelrooy has always loved him, even before joining Leicester City.
Ruud van Nistelrooy is all smiles at Leicester City currently. He recently took charge of his first game as Foxes boss, beating West Ham rather convincingly.
On the scoresheet was Patson Daka. The Zambia international striker came off the bench and played for half an hour. During this time, he found the back of the net and proved to Leicester fans why they mustn't give up on him.
Under Steve Cooper, Daka was an after-thought. While injuries did hold him back at the start of the season, Cooper seemed to be forming his team without Daka in mind. Under Ruud van Nistelrooy, the opposite could be true.
Daily Mail journalist Tom Collomosse recently appeared on the Big Strong Leicester Boys podcast. He revealed some insights into Ruud van Nistelrooy's time as PSV manager, which is of relevance to Leicester City.
Collomosse claims that Ruud van Nistelrooy has always been a fan of Patson Daka. He even attempted to sign him for PSV, back when Daka was playing for Salzburg.
In his own words, Collomosse said: “Van Nistelrooy had made a point of saying he had liked Patson Daka from when he was playing in Salzburg. He tried to sign him when at PSV and I’m really interested to see how that relationship develops.”
If Tuesday night's cameo is anything to go by, then Ruud van Nistelrooy has every reason in the world to be a fan of Patson Daka. Without a doubt, the striker has what it takes to be a key part of van Nistelrooy's plan at the King Power Stadium.
