Leila Pereira has filed a criminal defamation complaint against a Palmeiras fan over graffiti at Allianz Parque that followed the club’s 4-0 defeat to Novorizontino on 20 January in the first phase of the Campeonato Paulista.
According to Nosso Palestra, the complaint names Murylo Mikael Santos, who was identified and confirmed he was responsible for writing “Leila, seu negócio é roubar”.
The defeat prompted some supporters to spray the ticket office walls at Allianz Parque with messages such as “Abel, acabou a magia?”, “time sem vergonha” and “SPAlmeiras”.
Those responsible were detained, and the club filed a police report. A police inquiry was opened using security camera footage as evidence.
In her filing, the Palmeiras president argues the message seriously harmed her reputation, particularly in relation to her professional activity, and that it constitutes defamation. The complaint asks that, once authorship, materiality and causation are proven, the defendant be convicted under article 139, caput, with aggravating factors under article 141, items III and IV, of the Brazilian Penal Code.
