Lele Adani says the current Juventus team is nowhere near being a great side after their latest defeat at the hands of Sassuolo, with injuries and poor form threatening to derail another season for the men in black and white.

Juve have been one of the top teams punching below their weight for some time, and fans had believed this would be a better campaign under Luciano Spalletti. The club had hoped his experience could help them compete more strongly.

When Spalletti first arrived as their manager last term, the team showed encouraging signs of improvement, which is why Juventus decided to give him a contract to remain in charge for another season.

Juventus struggling to find consistency

Spalletti is an experienced manager who won Serie A in 2023, and he certainly has the credentials to win the league title with the current Juventus team. However, they have not made the start to this season that the club and supporters would have wanted.

The manager and his players will continue doing their best to improve their form and will look to respond in their next fixture. However, the latest defeat has once again raised questions about the quality of the squad and whether Juventus have enough to challenge at the highest level.

Juve need to find consistency if they are to turn their season around. Injuries have made that task more difficult, while individual mistakes have also contributed to their problems. For Adani, those issues demonstrate that the team still has a considerable distance to cover.

Adani questions Juventus quality

Adani believes Juventus are far from being a great side, pointing to mistakes from several players as evidence of the problems facing the team. He also questioned whether the manager is putting his players in the best position to perform.

Adani said via Calciomercato:

“Juventus is unable to put the players in a position to perform. And I wonder: is it a great team? She’s far from being one in my opinion. If Conceiçao is aiming and always misses something, if Kelly misreads situations and if Kolo Muani makes a mistake in tying up the game, these are harmful episodes and when you make a mistake you lose the games.”

The comments underline the pressure now facing Spalletti and his players. Juventus must find a way to reduce their mistakes and improve their performances if they are to make this season a successful one.
