Lennart Karl, the Bayern Munich forward, has been called up by Julian Nagelsmann for his first Germany squad. Kai Havertz returns after a year and a half out.
According to L'Équipe, this is the final camp before the 2026 World Cup, and Karl, 18, is included amid an impressive debut season with eight goals and six assists in all competitions.
His team-mate Jonas Urbig, 22, currently starting in goal with Manuel Neuer and number two Sven Ulreich unavailable, also receives his first call. Germany face Switzerland on 27 March in Basel, then Ghana on 30 March in Stuttgart.
Antonio Rüdiger is back after missing the autumn. The Arsenal forward had serious hamstring and then knee injuries in the interim. Niclas Füllkrug and Karim Adeyemi have not been selected, while Jamal Musiala is deemed unfit after a left ankle injury.
Full-back Josha Vagnoman of Stuttgart returns three years after his sole cap against Belgium in March 2023. Midfielder Anton Stach of Leeds United is also recalled, his last appearance coming in June 2022 against Italy.
