Robin Risser came off with a suspected concussion during France U-21s 1-1 draw against Switzerland’s U-21s on Friday night. He was brought off early and there were fears that the RC Lens goalkeeper could miss the game against his formative club, RC Strasbourg Alsace, next weekend.

Les Éspoirs’ medical staff did not want to take any risk, hence the substitution and then the decision to release the goalkeeper early and send him back to Lens. Since returning to Les Sang et Ors, the news has been positive, L’Équipe report.

Risser sold for just €3m by Strasbourg in the summer

The goalkeeper has not displayed any worrying symptoms. As a result, the concussion protocol has now been triggered. Risser could, therefore, play against Le Racing on Saturday afternoon. He has had an excellent start to the campaign for his new club, having been sold for just €3m by Strasbourg over the summer.
