Monaco came from two down to beat Lens 3-2, handing the hosts their second home defeat of the season. L'Équipe’s player ratings highlighted captain Denis Zakaria’s decisive display and a costly night for goalkeeper Robin Risser.

Odsonne Édouard struck on three minutes after Florian Thauvin picked out Adrien Thomasson, whose header teed him up. Risser then kept out Folarin Balogun on the line on 21 minutes. After the break Mal. Sarr’s powerful shot was pushed out by Philipp Köhn, allowing Thauvin to poach a second on 56 minutes.

Monaco hit back with three goals in under 10 minutes. Balogun’s strike made it 2-1 on 62 minutes after a Risser error, Zakaria’s header levelled on 70, then Ansu Fati lobbed the keeper on 72 as Risser came out late. A collision between Celik and Ganiou preceded the winner.

Thomasson battled and created, supplying the penultimate pass for the second with a back-heel to Sarr. Udol went inches wide from a Saint-Maximin cut-back in first-half added time. Saint-Maximin, starting for the first time, mixed bright moments with wasteful choices.

Monaco have now won their last two Ligue 1 matches, as many as in their previous 11. Coach Sage could not halt the slide with his changes, and Édouard’s withdrawal on 63 minutes deprived Lens of a focal point.
