Léo Pereira, Danilo and Alex Sandro report back to Flamengo on Thursday after 10 days off following Brazil’s World Cup exit. Besiktas of Türkiye have lodged official interest in Pereira.

The 30-year-old did not play at the tournament, yet returns highly rated after starting three of Brazil’s four friendlies before the World Cup in March.

Flamengo are weighing a pay rise or extension for the centre-back, whose deal runs to the end of 2027. His salary has been unchanged since January 2023. They do not plan to sell a starter, but a significant bid could ease cash flow and prompt talks this window.

“Do Flamengo need to sell players? No. That said, Flamengo’s finances allow me not to sell a player I think is worth 25 for 15.” President Bap told the Venê Casagrande YouTube channel last week.

Flamengo recall last year’s shortage at centre-back, when they had only three in the squad and turned to youngster João Victor amid absences. Internally, there is a belief Pereira would not join a lesser club not competing for titles, even in Europe.

With both out of contract in December, Alex Sandro has given the green light to a one-year renewal and only needs to sign. Danilo, who played at the World Cup as a right-back, will decide whether to stay or retire at season’s end.
