According to L'Équipe, Marseille defender Leonardo Balerdi is close to joining Roma, although an agreement between the clubs still needs to be finalised.

The Argentina international, 11 caps, attracted interest from Bologna and had long been linked with the Premier League, but now appears headed for Roma.
