Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has a message for coaches who don’t let players play as he raves about a Chelsea player.
Henry has been debating modern football and how coaches seem to restrict their players more and do not allow them to play with as much freedom as they used to.
He honed in on Chelsea’s Estevao Willian after he watched him help the Blues destroy Barcelona 3-0 last night in the Champions League.
Estevao scored Chelsea’s second goal to make it 2-0 on the night and allowing The Blues to pull away from Barcelona in the game and go on to win it 3-0, with the final goal coming from striker Liam Delap who came on as a second half sub.
Chelsea made Barcelona look very average and very poor last night and really, they just turned up and wanted it much more than the visitors did, even before the red card to Ronald Araujo in what was a very silly tackle when he was already booked.

Henry went in on this subject really in the aftermath of the game, speaking with Jamie Carragher and the rest of the panel about the game.
The video was posted by CBS Sports and is around 4 minutes long, as Henry goes deep into the subject about letting those types of players just dribble and attack with freedom.
It’s been titled ‘the disappearing art of dribbling’ and really, Henry has made some good points here. It’s not really directed at Maresca, but more just coaches in general in the modern game.
I agree fully with what Henry has said here. Football has evolved a lot, but not for the good in my view. We need more Estevao’s back in the game and let them have the freedom to play!
