Bayer Leverkusen could bring Moussa Diaby back to the club. Kicker.de reports that the chances of a reunion have improved in recent hours.
The winger is said to be willing to accept less pay than other suitors, which include Inter Milan. A fee of around €25 million has been floated.
New head coach Carles Martínez is expected to favour a move for the 27-year-old. Alternatives discussed included Paris Saint-Germain talent Ibrahim Mbaye, but Leverkusen deemed the overall package too costly.
Mbaye is understood to prefer Liverpool over the Bundesliga, which could give the Reds the edge. Shakhtar Donetsk’s 20-year-old Brazilian forward Alisson has also been mentioned as another option.
With one central midfielder set to be sold this summer, a departure for Equi Fernández could fund the Diaby move. Benfica are reportedly offering €20 million plus bonuses up to €5 million.
